S/S 15 Macro Trends

This season's overriding theme is Neo Materialism.


Over the last four decades we have witnessed dematerialisation in various fields: money became credit, brand names became more important than products, art became concept, and our lives moved, at least partially, online. We are now witnessing a growing interest in "thingness" (a term referring to objects that have physical presence, create an emotional response and have a connection to the place they were made). Artists, designers and consumers are seeking a more tangible appreciation of the world around them.

FOCUS

 The material world comes into sharp focus – emotion, contemplation and local environments are key.






HISTORY 2.0
We reconsider the past, creating products for imagined future worlds that once seemed impossible.
 

BIO-DYNAMIC
 Form, structures and systems are revolutionised by looking at new discoveries in microscopic life forms.
